Goodyear names two executives in one week

Aug. 24, 2015

Goodyear Tire & Rubber Co. named two executives, both from outside the company, to top leadership posts. Peter Rapin is the new vice president and treasurer. Chris Delaney will lead the Asia Pacific business unit.

Rapin will report to Laura Thompson, executive vice president and chief financial officer. He most recently served as vice president, treasury and tax for TRW Automotive (now part of ZF Friedrichshafen AG).

Rapin will succeed Thomas Kaczynski who has served as Goodyear’s treasurer since January 2014. Kaczynski is leaving the company for another opportunity, effective Aug. 28, 2015.

Delaney joins the company on Aug. 24, 2015, and assumes full responsibility for the Asia Pacific business unit on Jan. 1, 2016.

He comes to Goodyear with more than 30 years of global leadership experience in Asia Pacific, North America, Europe and the Middle East.

Delaney replaces Daniel Smytka, president of the company’s Asia Pacific business since 2011, who will move to another leadership role, according to Goodyear.

Goodyear announced Rapin's hiring on Aug. 21; Delaney's appointment was announced on Aug. 22. For details on the new members of Goodyear’s leadership team, see:
