After a 40-year run, Kevin Hogan is retiring from K.O. Tire Inc. This Friday, Aug. 28, will be the last as a partner in the Grove Village, Ill., dealership in started in 1974.

His brother, Lee, K.O.'s longtime technician, also is retiring from the business.

"The week is fully booked," says Hogan. "To my customers, I appreciate your business over the years and hope I have served you well. I have always believed in the philosophy of 'Well done is better that well said.'

"I have also believed in the philosophy 'If a task is once begun, never leave it until it's done; be the labor great or small, do it well or not at all,' which we practiced daily at K.O. Tire."

On Sept. 8, 2015, Emanuele "Manny" Mancuso, owner of Elk Grove Marathon, will assume K.O.'s phone number: (847) 439-6986. "Manny is a good man and will serve you well," says Hogan.

"I will be hanging out at his station for a few days after the transaction as to answer any questions someone may have."

Mancuso says he is honored that Elk Grove Marathon has the opportunity to take care of K.O. Tire customers. "Kevin and Lee are amazing at what they do. We will provide your customers with excellent service!"

In 1984, Kevin Hogan wrote a book, "How to Make People Like You in a Natural and Respectful Way." The book was a collection of "simple, yet practical, common sense principles for a happier, healthier, richer life."
