Michelin buys another German wholesaler

Order Reprints

Groupe Michelin has acquired Meyer Lissendorf GmbH, a major tire wholesaler in Germany, with the goal of improving its distribution network in the country.

It’s the tire maker’s second wholesaler acquisition in Germany in less than a year, following the 2014 purchase of Ihle Baden-Baden.

Michelin says the purchase of Meyer Lissendorf will strengthen its distribution, while also consolidating its position in the small and medium retailer redistribution market.

The acquisition is subject to approval by authorities in Germany and Austria.
