It’s a family affair for Team Falken for Round 2 of Nor Cal Rock Racing

June 19, 2015

Team Falken, manufacturer of high performance on- and off-road tires for a wide variety of consumer vehicles, and 16-year-old pro driver Jordan Pellegrino of Team GenRight, took first place in the 4500 Modified Class in this past weekend’s Nor Cal Rock Racing Series in Round 2 at the Prairie City SVRA outside Sacramento, CA.

In addition, driver Ernie Hardaway, who was on the podium at the Ultra4 Stampede earlier this year, took another podium with a 2nd place finish in the Legends Class. Ernie’s son, Alex Hardaway, also matched his dad’s accomplishment by taking 2nd place in the main event of the 4400 Unlimited class.

In keeping with the Falken family affair, Jordan’s father Tony and brother Jami also competed during the weekend, each in a separate class, though Jordan was the only one to secure a podium.  All drivers were running on Falken WILDPEAKs throughout the weekend’s events.

This is Jordan’s second win in a row.  He dominated his class, winning his heats and the race.  “I had zero issues with my car,” he stated.  “It ran great all weekend.  My Falken tires worked really well for me, too; I had all the traction I needed and no flats.”

Added Alex and Ernie Hardaway:  “It was great fun that we both took a second place.  It was a great day of competition and we had no tire issues at all.  Our Falkens were just incredible,” noted Ernie.  Alex raced against Tony Pellegrino in the main event and stated that he and “Tony traded positions a couple of times.  I was able to make a pass on him through the rocks, but I needed a little more horsepower to get around the eventual race winner [Gary Ferravanti].

“My dad drove the old car harder and faster than ever before in the Legends Class, and thanks to our Falken tires, kept going right up to the end where it was nearly a photo finish in the main event.  It was really exciting to watch.”

“It also was very exciting for all of us at Falken to see our teams do so well at Round 2 of the Nor Cal Rock Racing Series,” said Jonathon Bradford, Falken’s Manager of Motorsports Marketing and Events.  “While everyone at the track wants to win, we’re all one big family at the end of the day, as it’s our job to support Falken and generate strong finishes that show what our tires can do.”

“Once again, we are celebrating a significant accomplishment for Falken Tire,” added Nestor Cabrera, Falken’s Off-Road Supervisor.  “We’ve partnered with some very good teams and drivers and they are helping to prove that our tires are winners everywhere they run.”

Nor Cal Rock Racing is a sister series to Ultra4 and King of the Hammers, focused on regional off-road events run in Northern California and which follows Ultra4/KOH rules.  The next event is scheduled for August 8th again at the Prairie City facility.
