United Tire and Service names president

June 11, 2015

United Tire and Service LLC has named Greg Mynaugh as president. He brings more than thirty years of industry experience to the independent tire group.

“We are excited to have Greg join the United Tire organization,” says Ken Sylvester, founder. “The idea of United Tire is to bring together independent tire dealers, to deliver multi-brand tires to our marketplace and gain name recognition as an independent alternative to the “Big Box” dealers.

“We believe people want to shop local again. The challenge is to bring together an organization that can effectively service these dealers with the products and pricing to be competitive. Greg Mynaugh brings a wealth of industry and product experience to our organization and we believe he is the right person to drive United Tire forward.”

United Tire and Service says its primary business goal has always been to provide independent tire retail shops the opportunity to offer competitive pricing on all major brands while still providing personal and high-quality service to their customers by adopting the brand name.

Owners recognize that it is difficult to compete in today’s market as an independent tire retailer without being a part of a mass entity. United Tire and Service allows these companies to have a full inventory accompanied with brand recognition, but still focus on their main assets that make their store unique: excellent customer service, high quality employees, and local ownership, according to the tire group.

After a successful first year branded as United Tire and Service, the tire group has gained five locations for a total of 22 retail stores. It is the largest independent tire group in Pennsylvania’s Delaware Valley and the second largest tire group in its market area, preceded only by Pep Boys-Manny, Moe and Jack.

The 14 dealers who formed the tire group in April 2014 say they are confident that Mynaugh will be able to leverage opportunities to create a stronger entity through his marketing strategies and continue growing the brand for the betterment of the independent retail dealer.
