Continental expands the Grabber line

The Grabber HTS60 is the newest General all-season, highway terrain tire for light trucks, SUVs and CUVs from Continental Tire the Americas LLC. Dealers can begin ordering the next-generation Grabber HTS in July 2015 for delivery in August.

Continental says the newest addition to the Grabber line offers similar dry, wet, snow and comfort performance as the Grabber HTS with 25% improvement in tread wear. The Grabber HTS60 has up to a 65,000 limited mileage warranty.

“The new Grabber HTS60 is an excellent all-season tire geared towards the on-road driver,” says Travis Roffler, director of marketing. “Staying in line with our Grabber brand, this tire offers durability, performance and comfort but has improved tread life over the former HTS and we think drivers will really appreciate that.”

Unlike the original HTS, the HTS60 has slightly different tread patterns for metric and LT sizes. The Grabber HTS60 metric sizes are optimized for ride quality and traction while the LT sizes are optimized for stability and grip under heavy loads.

Fifty metric sizes will be available with wheel diameters ranging from 15 inches to 22 inches and speed ratings of S, T or H. Twelve LT-metric and flotation sizes will be available ranging from 15 inches to 18 inches and with a speed rating of R or S.

The value-focused highway terrain tire’s proprietary technologies include DuraGen, which provides excellent cut and chip resistance that improves tread life in rugged terrain, according to the company. Another is Comfort Balance Technology, in which a cushioned tread containing an absorption layer helps isolate the vehicle from road disturbances for a more comfortable, pleasant ride. Continental also says the tire’s wide footprint promotes even wear, excellent braking and responsive handling.

In addition to the replacement lineup, the company says several original equipment fitments are planned.
