Goodyear takes a tumble

May 14, 2015

Goodyear Tire & Rubber Co. may be one of the most iconic tire companies in the world, but its brand took a beating on the latest list of “Top 500 U.S. brands” curated by Brand Finance plc.

The Akron, Ohio-based tire maker dropped 151 spots on the list, also known as “The Billion Dollar Brands Club.” The latest list puts Goodyear at No. 301. A year ago, Goodyear was ranked 150th.

Modern Tire Dealer Editor Bob Ulrich isn’t sure what to make of the ranking in his latest blog post. Has the Goodyear blimp suddenly become less recognizable?

Check out Ulrich’s blog and let him know what you think about Goodyear’s ranking. Did the list get it wrong? Did Goodyear make a big misstep somewhere along the way? Let him know by leaving a comment.
