American Tire Distributors Inc. (ATD) raised $100,000 for two community organizations via its 19th annual charity golf tournament, which was held earlier this week.

"Each year we select two worthy charities," says ATD Senior Vice President of Marketing Ron Sinclair.

This year's charities were A Child's Place, which "works to erase the impact of homelessness on children," and Uptown Shelter, which provides emergency services and other support for homeless people. ATD donated $50,000 to each organization.

More than 150 golfers participated in the tournament. "We had four different sponsorship levels, dictated by donation levels," says Sinclair.
