TGI names former NFL player its president

April 6, 2015

Tire Group International LLC (TGI) has named Joaquin Gonzalez Jr. its president, effective April 1, 2015. Gonzalez joined TGI in 2006 following a successful football career, first as a member of the national champion University of Miami Hurricanes team in 2001, and then in the NFL as a player for the Cleveland Browns and Indianapolis Colts.

Gonzalez originally joined TGI as its chief operating officer where he developed and implemented TGI’s current enterprise resource planning (ERP) system, increasing sales more than 20% in one year, and nearly doubling sales over the next 5 years. After creating a strong foundation on the operations side, he took on the task of leading TGI’s sales efforts in 2012, as chief marketing officer. Since then, TGI’s sales and continued growth have been a clear reflection of Joaquin’s dedication and hard work, the company says.

“Joaquin has steadily taken on a larger role in the management of the company over the past few years; I felt his title should better reflect those added responsibilities. I am extremely proud of my brother and his accomplishments. His ability to lead and manage our team is clearly evident in the positive results TGI has been able to post since his addition in 2006.” says Tony Gonzalez, founder and chairman of TGI.
