Falken Tire and Genright take first place in 4500 Class

April 2, 2015

Team Falken along with Team GenRight Driver Jordan Pellegrino, executed a first class performance, winning all heats and the race in the 4500 Class in Round One of the NorCal Rock Race held outside Sacramento, CA over the weekend.  A second Team Falken driver, Justin Hall, took third.

Pellegrino’s race win was even more exceptional considering that he is only 16 years old.  Neither age nor less experience proved a factor in the race, as Pellegrino, despite experiencing some technical issues early on, moved to the front of the pack in Heat 1 and took the win.  He swept Heat 2 as well and the team prepared for the main.

“At the start of the main, I got a hole shot and took off and never saw another car until after the checkered flag,” stated Jordan.  “I had a great day with few failures.  The Falken WILDPEAKs were amazing.  We had no flats and no cuts, despite some of the rocks I was hitting.  I smacked a couple, but when I checked, I saw there was no damage, so I just pushed on as hard as I could.”

Added Justin Hall:  “The racing action with fellow Team Falken Driver Jordan Pellegrino was awesome.  We had a fantastic battle all day.  My WILDPEAK M/T’s were working great as usual, and never let me down.  Unfortunately, I took a rough bounce in one of the rock sections which resulted in a nasty rollover.  Still, I overcame the setback and landed in third place.”

“These results continue Falken’s great start to a busy off-road season, and NorCal Rock Racing has a strong number of race events where we expect to showcase our Falken WILDPEAK tires with our team members Jordan and Justin, among others,” noted Nick Fousekis, Falken’s Director of Motorsports and Marketing.  “Obviously, the race conditions are tougher than what most consumers riding on WILDPEAKs will experience, but these wins and podium finishes clearly demonstrate what our tires are capable of withstanding as the teams power on.”

“Once again, we are celebrating a significant accomplishment for Falken Tire,” added Nestor Cabrera, Falken’s Off-Road Supervisor.  “We’ve partnered with some very good teams and drivers and they are utilizing our product to the fullest.”

NorCal Rock Racing is a sister series to Ultra4 and King of the Hammers, focused on regional off-road events run in Northern California which follow Ultra4/KOH rules.  The next event is scheduled for June 13th  at the Prairie City SVRA facility in Rancho Cordova.
