Toyo recovers 75% of recalled MT tires

Feb. 23, 2015

Toyo Tire U.S.A. Corp. says it has recovered more than 75% of the 138 Open Country MT tires recalled.

The recall campaign covers the Open Country M/T in size 40X15.5R22 127Q, manufactured during the week of Oct. 26, 2014. These tires are intended for light trucks, SUVs and vans. Toyo says in a small number of these recalled tires, a production error may have resulted in tires with off-center belts. If undetected, this condition may potentially contribute to a tread/belt separation and/or loss of inflation pressure, which may increase the risk of tire failure and a vehicle crash.

The recalled tires were manufactured at the plant in Sendai, Japan. The recall covers part No. 360200, and Tire Identification Number CXPCEV74314.
