Winter wonder: the General Grabber Arctic LT

Jan. 15, 2015

The Grabber Arctic LT is the newest General winter tire from Continental Tire the Americas LLC. The studdable winter tire's all-weather, cut-and-chip resistant compound is designed to maintain cold-weather flexibility, excellent traction and long, even tread wear.

"The enhanced snow and ice traction combined with a studdable design make this tire a great choice for the light truck owner, says Travis Roffler, director of marketing. "General Tire is celebrating 100 years this year, and I can’t think of a better way to celebrate than launching a new winter tire that offers the durability and performance our customers demand at a notable value."

The Grabber Arctic LT also features the following:

* Continental's DuraGen Technology, which provides responsive handling and even tread wear under all load conditions.

* interlocking light truck winter sipes designed to provide 1) exceptional grip in snow and icy conditions, and 2) strong wet and dry braking and stable handling.

* snow traction ridges, which offer additional grip during cornering, accelerating and braking and in deep snow.

* a 30-day customer satisfaction trial warranty.

The Grabber Arctic LT initially will be available in 10 R-rated LT sizes ranging from LT225/75R16 (with a load index of 115/112) to LT275/65R20 (126/123). The line and sizes replace the LT-metric sizes in the General Altimax Arctic line.

Continental will begin accepting dealer orders for the Grabber Arctic LT in April 2015. The tire will be available in the fall.
