Groupe Michelin has signed a 10-year contract to supply aircraft tires to Emirates Airlines.
Michelin will outfit the company's Airbus A380 fleet with its Near Zero Growth line of radial tires, which the tiremaker says can make 30% to 40% more landings than traditional diagonal aircraft tires.
"Each A380 will be fitted with 20 (of the) tires in the main landing gear position."
With 58 of the planes on order, Emirates will have the largest A380 fleet in the world.
