AAPEX Will Include Tires in 2020

Nov. 6, 2019

Tires will be a part of the Automotive Aftermarket Products Expo (AAPEX) for the first time in 2020.

The new tire service section is part of a plan to draw more technicians to AAPEX, according to the show owners, the Auto Care Association and the Automotive Aftermarket Suppliers Association (AASA).

A new space called Repair Shop HQ will be created for the 2020 event. The new tire section will be located in the Repair Shop HQ space. The new space will also house the existing Tool and Equipment and Mobility Garage show floor sections.

The new Repair Shop HQ will feature a fully built out shop on the show floor where service professionals can get hands-on training. New training on alternative vehicle technologies, as well as undercar and underhood service, will be offered.

In addition, the 2020 AAPEX will have a new section devoted to robotics and warehouse equipment and logistics.

“The ultimate goal of this expansion is to enable AAPEX and the entire supply chain to be more efficient from start to finish, while proactively addressing changes in the industry by presenting solutions,” said Auto Care Association President and CEO Bill Hanvey.

“We will deliver solutions to the shop in order for them to be ahead of the curve. We will enable our distribution partners to make inventories more efficient, more viable, and more available to the customer. And we will champion opportunities for parts manufacturers to utilize data more efficiently to enhance their relationship with their customers.”

There are more than 2,500 exhibiting companies, 5,400 booths and 50,000 buyers at the 2019 AAPEX. Collectively, the 2019 AAPEX, going on this week from Nov. 5-7, brings together 170,000 automotive aftermarket professionals from 133 countries.
