Longtime automotive aftermarket veteran Bob Moore joins SEMA board

Sept. 12, 2008

Bob Moore, president of Bob Moore & Partners, is the newest member of the Specialty Equipment Market Association (SEMA) board of directors.

He replaces Anne Johnson, who tendered her resignation from the board concurrent with accepting a position as an outside regional sales representative with Keystone Automotive Operations. Ed Orzetti, Keystone's CEO and president, also serves on the SEMA board, and according to SEMA bylaws, representatives from the same company cannot hold seats on the board at the same time.

As an advertising executive, Moore was introduced to the specialty equipment market in 1980. He co-founded the SEMA Business Technology Committee with Jon Wyly, is a SEMA Ambassador and has assisted with the association's education initiatives.

"I am tremendously energized about the opportunity to serve on the SEMA board," says Moore. "Having made my living in the aftermarket for over 30 years, the idea of being able to help to shape the thought and direction of the market's most influential trade association is both thrilling and humbling.

"I hope to use my understanding of business technology to help SEMA members use technology to expand the sales of our products and promote operational efficiencies. It is an idea whose time has truly come."
