Arvind Poddar, chairman and managing director of Balkrishna Industries Ltd. (BKT), has been named Best Transformational Leader by the Asian Center for Corporate Governance & Sustainability.
Poddar received the award at the recent Asia Business Responsibility Summit in Mumbai, India.
The Asian Center for Corporate Governance & Sustainability is a non-profit organization and think tank "that aims at bringing about qualitative improvement in the corporate governance and sustainability practices of Asian companies," according to BKT officials.
The group is dedicated to encouraging "corporate practices" that "generate wealth in a socially responsible manner."
