Hankook Tire Co. Ltd. will be the original equipment tire supplier for the new Audi Q8 SUV.
In the United States, Hankook will supply the the Dynapro HP 2 Plus (sizes 275/50R20 113H X, 285/45R21 113H XL and 285/40R22 110 H XL) for the four-door vehicle.
In Europe, Hankook will supply the Ventus S1 evo 3 SUV (size 285/45R21 113Y XL) and the Winter i*cept evo 2 SUV (size 285/45R21 113V XL).
The three tires "provide particular support for agile handling when driving dynamically," according to Moonhwa Hong, vice president of Hankook's OE development department.
"The central requirement in the course of the (tires') development was tire design," he says. "Because of the generally higher vehicle loads with large SUVs and the resulting load index...the durability of the tire design was, of course, particularly important. In addition, we paid special attention to the required vehicle attributes in both wet and dry conditions."
