Wegmann Acquires Alligator’s Tire Valve Division

Sept. 9, 2019

Wegmann automotive GmbH has acquired the tire valve division of Alligator Ventilfabrik GmbH.

The acquisition agreement gives Wegmann ownership of sales and distribution operations in Europe and North America for Alligator brand passenger car and heavy-duty truck tire valves and components, as well as passenger care tire pressure monitoring system (TPMS) sensors and tools.

The Alligator brand name will be added to Wegmann’s portfolio of brands. All product manufacturing will remain unchanged at Alligator’s existing production site in Europe. The Alligator North American distribution facility, located in Buchanan, Mich., will also continue and maintain all staff and distribution operations. However, North American sales and ordering responsibilities will immediately fold into the existing Wegmann automotive USA facility in Murfreesboro, Tenn.

“The high-quality products that Alligator delivers to the market are complementary to our existing offer,” says Jeff Waechter, president and CEO of Wegmann automotive USA. “Through joint efforts of our combined teams, we will be able to increase the overall value we deliver to our customers.”

Wegmann is the parent company of the Hofmann Power Weight and Perfect Equipment wheel weight brands. The company's global  headquarters are located in Germany and its North American headquarters are located in Murfreesboro, Tenn.
