Greenbriar Equity Group Acquires Another Top 100 Dealer

Greenbriar Equity Group L.P. has acquired 18 Lamb’s Tire & Automotive Centers stores in central Texas.

The transaction brings the number of stores under the private equity firm’s GB Auto Service Inc. company to 101 locations in Arizona, California, Nevada and Texas.

The deal closed on June 30, 2019. Terms were not disclosed.

Prior to the acquisition, Jim Ramsey was CEO and president of Lamb Ventures LLC, which went to market as Lamb’s Tire & Automotive Centers. He is now a regional vice president for GB Auto Service.

Lamb's Tire and Automotive is pleased to announce a partnership with GB Auto, joining over 100 auto repair facilities across California, Nevada, Arizona, and Texas in the GB Auto family.

The combination of Lamb's Tire with GB Auto provides vast resources to a terrific Lamb’s team steeped in a long tradition of providing excellent service while significantly strengthening GB Auto’s footprint in the Austin market.

Lamb’s Tire & Automotive Centers is Greenbriar Equity’s sixth acquisition in the automotive aftermarket since December 2017. The other acquisitions are:

  • Evans Tire & Service Centers Inc., 18 stores;
  • Tire Works Total Car Care, 15 stores;
  • Ramona Tire Inc., 17 stores;
  • Brakemax Car Care Centers of Arizona, which goes to market as Brake Max Tire & Service Centers, 15 stores; and
  • Driver’s Edge Complete Auto Care, 18 stores.

According to its website, Driver’s Edge Complete Auto Care plans to add tire sales at its 18 stores, which are all located in the Austin and Dallas/Fort Worth, Texas, area.

Lamb’s Tire is the fourth dealership from the Modern Tire Dealer 100 to be purchased by Greenbriar Equity. The others are Evans Tire, Ramona Tire and Tire Works Total Car Care.

With addition of Lamb's Tire, Greenbriar Equity's GB Auto Service division is selling tires through 84 outlets in the southwestern United States. GB Auto Service is ranked No. 14 on the Modern Tire Dealer 100.
