In the last 12 months, Monro Inc. has added nearly 100 locations to its independent retail and commercial tire dealership. In the last three years, it has added 164 outlets.
As a result, the company finds itself the third largest independent tire dealer on the Modern Tire Dealer 100 list, behind only Reinalt-Thomas Corp. -- you know the company better as Discount Tire and America's Tire -- and TBC Corp., which does business as Tire Kingdom and NTB Tire & Service Centers.
Monro's aggressive growth strategy is surpassed only by Mavis Tire Express Services Corp., which has increased its stores count by 366 in the last three years. Mavis is fourth on the MTD 100 list with 698 retail outlets.
