McCarthy Tire Service Co. Inc. is merging two retail stores in Winchester, Va. Both stores were acquired in 2012, and on June 26 the staffs of both locations will combine under the roof at 908 S. Kent St.
McCarthy says, "Consolidating personnel and resources will allow McCarthy Tire to better serve its customers in the Shenandoah Valley." The entire team from the McCarthy Tire Service store at 2720 Valley Ave. will move to the Kent Street location. The final day of operations on Valley Ave. is Tuesday, June 25. All customer records will be transferred.
Thaddeus Brown, the long-time manager of the Valley Ave. location, has been promoted to retail manager of the combined operations. He started his career with Duncan Brothers Tire Co. more than 20 years ago at the Kent Street location. After McCarthy acquired Duncan Brothers Tire, Brown was promoted to manager of the Valley Ave. store.

The Kent Street location offers retail tire and mechanical service for passenger and light truck vehicles, as well as medium trucks. The store also offers fleet management and national account services. Its list of tire brands includes Michelin, BFGoodrich, Uniroyal, Bridgestone, Firestone, Hercules, Continental and General.
