GPX to build more tires in Maine

Sept. 2, 2008

GPX International Tire Corp. is expanding the manufacturing capacity of its MaineTire solid tire plant in Gorham, Maine.

Machines from GPX's former plant in Mississauga, Ontario, have been installed at the Gorham facility, "and will result in an increase of production capacity and the creation of new jobs," say GPX officials. (They did not reveal specific numbers.)

Among other products, the Maine plant builds solid rubber tires primarily used on forklift trucks.
