Yokohama Tire Corp. is targeting luxury SUV and CUV consumers with the new Geolandar X-CV. The tire offers a long-lasting treadlife along with all-season traction and braking. All 23 sizes are W-rated, and Yokohama says the Geolandar X-CV covers "nearly all" the 18-inch to 22-inch luxury SUV and CUV fitments.
Here's a look at the tire's features:
- The asymmetric tread pattern, coupled with 2D and 3D sipes, provides for reliable, short-stopping distance in wet and wintery conditions.
- The Geolandar X-CV will last thanks to its wide, flat construction profile that provides a rectangular contact patch, which evenly distributes stresses for long, even wear.
- Precise handling comes from the reinforced shoulder and two center ribs that enhance stability and dry handling.
- A staggered tread pattern in a five-block sequence reduces pattern and road noise.
“The X-CV is definitely luxury meets performance,” says Bob Abram, Yokohama’s senior manager of product planning. “It’s specifically engineered for luxury SUVs and crossovers, and is built for long-lasting, powerful all-season traction and braking.”
