TIA's ATS Advanced Instructor Training Is Coming to Kentucky

March 12, 2019

The Tire Industry Association (TIA) is taking registrations for the Automotive Tire Service (ATS) advanced instructor training session in Louisville, Ky., March 26-29.

The four-day, hands-on training classes are designed to educate tire technicians on the proper safety procedures and guidelines for servicing passenger and light truck tire and wheel assemblies.

Can't make it to Louisville? TIA is presenting ATS advanced instructor training in the following five cities between now and December:

  • May 21-24 – Mission Viejo, Calif.
  • August 13-16– Denver, Colo.
  • September 10-13 – Seattle, Wash.
  • November 12-15 – Baltimore, Md.
  • December 10-13 – Detroit, Mich.

Most of the classes are held at local community and technical colleges.

The Certified ATS program is a 300- and 400-level certification that provides in-depth and comprehensive instruction on the recommended procedures for servicing modern automobiles and light trucks.

TIA says Certified ATS is designed for the professional passenger and light truck tire technician so the subjects range from the relationship between torque and clamping force to the TPMS relearn and diagnostic procedures on domestic and import vehicles. Certified ATS also includes an exclusive module on tire conditions analysis that use images from TIA’s Passenger and Light Truck Tire Conditions Manual to educate technicians on the most likely reasons for common irregular tread wear patterns.

The sponsors of TIA’s 2019 ATS advanced instructor training tour are: ATEQ, Autel, Bartec USA, Modern Tire Dealer, REDI Sensor (Continental), Rubber Inc., and Schrader Performance Sensors.
