Joe Gingo, Goodyear Tire & Rubber Co.'s executive vice president of quality systems and chief technical officer, will retire from the company on Dec. 31.
On Jan. 1, Gingo will become CEO and president of Akron, Ohio-based polymer company A. Schulman Inc.
Gingo's replacement is expected to be announced this week, says a Goodyear spokesman.
"We have a continuous succession process at Goodyear... it will be an internal person."
Gingo has been with Goodyear for more than 40 years. "Joe's retirement will not change anything in our product development process."
