Pirelli will raise tire prices on Nov. 1

"Due to increasing raw material, energy, transportation, and logistics costs," Pirelli Tire North America Inc. says it will increase tire prices in the United States effective Nov. 1, 2008.

The company will increase prices on its passenger and light truck tires up to 7%.

Previously, Hankook Tire America Corp. and Toyo Tire U.S.A. Corp. reported price increases on their consumer and commercial tires effective Oct. 1. Cooper Tire & Rubber Co., Continental Tire North America Inc. (consumer only) and Michelin North America Inc. (commercial only) also will increase tire prices in October.

Goodyear Tire & Rubber Co., Kumho Tire U.S.A. Inc., Bridgestone Firestone North American Tire LLC and Michelin (consumer only) will raise tire prices effective Sept. 1, as will Falken Tire Corp., China Manufacturers Alliance LLC and Yokohama Tire Corp. (commercial only).
