Toyo to sponsor college basketball event

Toyo Tire (U.S.A.) Corp. will sponsor the John R. Wooden Classic college basketball doubleheader for the second year in a row.

"Our continued alliance with this first-class event furthers our goal of increasing awareness and national exposure for the Toyo brand while also supporting the finest in collegiate sports," says Steve Hitchinson, Toyo's senior director of marketing.

The event will be held on Dec. 8.

"Toyo included in the event logo as the presenting sponsor and will receive exposure in all Wooden Classic advertising and logo placement on the basketball court and in-arena signage," note Toyo officials.

"Representatives from Toyo will also be on hand to present six deserving high school student athletes with $500 scholarships, also giving $500 to each athlete's school in support of its efforts."
