More than 17 million tires have been retreaded using the Michelin Retread Technologies Inc. (MRTI) process, say Michelin officials. MRTI is marking its 10th anniversary today.
There are currently 45 MRTI fracnhisees with 77 total locations throughout the United States, Canada and Mexico. MRTI also has a tread pressing plant in Covington, Ga., and another in Queretaro, Mexico.
MRTI franchisees have used more than 200,000 tons of rubber in the process' first decade.
