Nov. 5, 2007

Continental AG's consolidated sales for the first nine months of 2007 totaled $11.9 billion euros, nearly 9% more than the same period in 2006. "In the first nine months, we strongly outperformed the sales and EBIT figures for the same period of 2006, which were already very good, and are headed for another record year," says Continental Chairman Manfred Wennemer.

"We also have improved return on sales to 11.2% and the adjusted return on sales to 12% in nine months."

During the first nine months of 2007, Continental's Passenger and Light Truck Tires division boosted its sales by 7.5% year-over-year to 3.6 billion euros. During that same period, the company's Commercial Vehicles Tires unit experienced a 1.6% sales drop to roughly one billion euros.
