Bridgestone Bandag introduces two Continuum tread designs

Aug. 12, 2008

Bridgestone Bandag Tire Solutions has added two off-the-road tread designs to its Continuum retreaded material offerings: the C1072 and C1073.

Both non-directional, aggressive lug patterns are optimized for use on radial casings.

C1072 tread pattern. Designed for articulated dump trucks, loaders, dozers and graders, the Continuum C1072 emulates the Bridgestone VMT tire design. It is available in 23.5-, 26.5- and 29.5-inch sizes.

"Continuum C1072 matches the new tire tread depth, allowing fleets to mate retreads and new tires of similar designs," says Mike Poirier, North American OTR sales manager.

C1073 tread pattern. Designed for rigid dump trucks and haul applications, the Continuum C1073 is in full production following seven months of successful testing.

"The initial retread tires built with Continuum C1073 tread recently reached the end of their life cycle in a coal mine application," says Poirier. "The vehicles running these tires operated under extreme conditions at 600 hours per month.

"The Continuum retreads ran 3,000 hours of service as compared to 3,500 from a new tire, with the result that this new retread tire design is providing 82% of the hours a new tire provides, but at just 60% of the price."

The C1073 design is based on the Bridgestone VMTP new tire design. It is available in the following tire sizes: 21.00R25, 21.00R35, 23.5R25, 24.00R35, 24.00R49, 26.5R25, 29.5R25 and 27.00R49.
