JMK Computerized TDIS adds computer benefits

Oct. 3, 2007

Jim Krakower, director of system development for JMK Computerized TDIS, says his company is releasing several new programs at the Specialty Equipment Market Association (SEMA) Show in Las Vegas Oct. 29-Nov. 2.

"In the past 12 months, JMK has added more new features then in the past 10 years combined," says Krakower. "Included in that is a radical speed improvement (up to 150 time faster operation then just a few years ago) and nearly 50 pages of release notes on software changes."

New programs include optional on-line parts ordering (World PAC and NAPA), and optional on-line access to Mitchell 1's OnDemand5 vehicle data base.

An optional Remote Hosting Solution (RHS) also is available, with which JMK supplies the central server at its facility in Dallas, Texas, along with hardware support and data backups.

Tire dealers have access to the company's server through the Internet, and "pay for only those features/options and processing capacity they need," says Krakower. "We allow for an electronic conversion of the dealer's existing data to our system and an electronic export feature, as needed."

The RHS option allows dealers to "slice out" the correct JMK system modules for their type of operation, access them over the Web from PC work stations at the sales counters or in the back office, and pay based only on what they use.

JMK supplies electronic information management tools "24/7/365," notes Krakower, including application/system software support, nightly data base backup, electronic data transfer options (from a current system or an outside source), and usage-based pricing.

"With built-in on-line access to industry-specific vehicle data from

Mitchell 1 and other providers, manufacturer's Web sites for pictures/specifications, NAPA and World PAC direct parts estimating/order system, Goodyear third party billing support (national account and purchase resale), and JMK's own customer data base purchase analysis and management reports, dealers have the electronic information tool choices needed to service their accounts and run their business," says Krakower.

"In this configuration, by using the Internet to access their JMK data, wholesale dealers also can now easily allow their dealer accounts to place orders simply and directly onto their system or through an alternate Web site option integrated to the JMK system."

JMK is based in Urbana, Ill., with additional technical support/development staff at multiple locations in Texas and Arizona. For more information, call (800) 397-8100, e-mail [email protected], visit SEMA Show booth 41519, or see the company's Web site www.jmktdis.com.
