More than 6,800 visitors attended CITEXPO 2007, a Chinese tire show held earlier this month in Shanghai. More than one-third were from outside of China.

Countries of origin included the United States, India, Japan, Russia, the United Kingdom, Brazil, Australia, Germany, Greece, Saudi Arabia, Spain, Belgium, Argentina, Norway and others.

Other statistics include:

* Total number of exhibitors: 254, including 20 media outlets.

* Exhibition space: 15,000 square meters, 50% more than last year's show.

* Number of exhibitors re-booked for next year's convention: 150.

* Percentage of exhibition space already sold for next year's show: 70%.

"This year, organizers invited professionals from the U.S. Department of Transportation and the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration to introduce the latest tire and rim standard of the United States," says Reliable International Exhibition Services Co. Ltd., the company that staged CITEXPO 2007.

Next year's CITEXPO will be held Sept. 17-19.
