Tire Group International Inc. (TGI) has hired Steve Shafer to manage the new West Coast office of its Wholesale Domestic Division.
Shafer joins TGI with more than 25 years of tire wholesale experience. He was previously with Barron's Wholesale Tire Inc. "His knowledge and relationships in the industry will allow TGI to reach its strategic objective, which is to have a much stronger presence in the domestic distribution of tires, particularly in Florida," says the company.
TGI, one of the nation's largest exporters of tires and tubes, is in talks to secure additional major brand tire lines to add to its existing diversified brand portfolio. In preparation, TGI recently moved its headquarters to a new 200,000 square-foot, state-of-the-art warehouse facility in Florida.
TGI also has added delivery routes and expanded its delivery fleet to provide daily service in the South Florida market.
