Hankook fine-tunes its European UHP offerings

Sept. 18, 2007

Hankook Tire Co. Ltd. is showcasing its new Hankook Ventus V12 evo at the International Car Exhibition 2007 (IAA) in Frankfurt, Germany.

The tire, which will be launched in Europe next spring, will be on display at the Hankook booth through Sept. 23.

The new ultra-high performance tire is designed for tuning-oriented enthusiasts, consumers who enjoy fast but controllable driving (under secure circumstances), and drivers of sports sedans. Accordingly, the tread compound has been developed for traction and braking under wet and dry circumstances.

Other features include three-dimensional blocks that distribute even ground contact pressure for optimal handling and braking; and a solid center rib block that "enhances braking performance and delivers steering response also under high speed for excellent handling," says the company.

Wide linear circumferential grooves, together with an aggressive Y-shape pattern, ensure effective water drainage for safe driving on wet roads.

The V12 evo will be sold in more than 40 sizes ranging from 185/55R15 82V to 275/30R19 96Y. Most of them will come in extra-load versions.
