Pirelli announces first half results

Sept. 14, 2007

Pirelli & Cie SpA posted revenues of 2.6 billion euros during the first half of 2007, up 10.6% from the same period last year. Pirelli's net income for the first half was 181.2 million euros.

Pirellii's tire division racked up 2.1 billion euros in revenue during the first six months of 2007 verses 2 billion euros achieved during the first half of 2006.

Growth came from volume increases and a "focus on product mix," say Pirelli officials.

The tire unit's net income totaled 117.4 million euros during the first half.
