Goodyear Tire & Rubber Co. has named Mark Purtilar its chief procurement officer. He replaces Gary Miller, who is retiring from the company.

Purtilar will oversee Goodyear's global procurement strategy. He will be responsible for the company's $10 billion in annual purchases.

"An innovative and aggressive procurement plan is a key element of Goodyear's growth strategy," says Christopher Clark, Goodyear's senior vice president of global sourcing.

Prior to his Goodyear appointment, Purtilar was vice president of global procurement for commercial vehicle systems for ArvinMeritor.
