Bob Sumerel Tire Co. is in growth mode. The Erlanger, Ky.-based company recently acquired two dealersips, including a firm in Uniontown, Pa., that has a Bandag retread plant.
The plant in Uniontown had been producing 44 to 53 medium truck tire retreads per day, but "we have kicked it up to 88," says Tim Stover, a regional manager for Bob Sumerel Tire.
Bob Sumerel Tire produces about 800 retreads per day at its six plants company-wide.
The dealership also recently purchased "a small servicing dealer in Youngstown, Ohio," called RG Tire, and has turned it into a full-service commercial truck tire outlet, according to Stover.
