Michelin North America Inc. says Michelin energy-efficient tires have saved more than 2.6 billion gallons of fuel since 1992.
The company adds it has sold 600 million "green tires" worldwide over the last 16 years.
Conserving fuel "is a crucial challenge at a time when skyrocketing oil prices are impacting the entire global economy and reducing purchasing power," say Michelin officials.
