Foreign Tire Sales Inc.'s (FTS) recall of 250,000 allegedly defective light truck tires made by Hangzhou Zhongce Rubber Co. Ltd. could begin as early as this week.

According to FTS owner Richard Kuskin, "the law says you have to do it in a reasonable amount of time, which is about two months from when you write to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHSTA) that there's a defect."

FTS, a Union, N.J.-based importer, filed a Defect and Non-Compliance Report with NHTSA on June 11.
