Tech International has named Robert Overs acting CEO. Overs, who currently serves as chief operating officer and senior vice president, will assume his new duties while current CEO Michael Chambers takes a one-year leave of absence due to medical and health considerations.
"While I am clearly disappointed in my doctors' recent findings, the recent surgery on my upper back was successful and I am very optimistic that my course of physical therapy will result in a complete recovery," says Chambers. "I greatly appreciate the support of my family, friends, Tech's board of directors, Tech's senior management team members and our Tech associates from around the world as I focus my time and energy on getting healthy."
During his leave of absence, Chambers will remain chairman of the board.
"The board will provide Mike the time he needs towards a full recovery," says Overs. "In the meantime, I will be working closely with (President) Cheryl Poulton, our senior management team and Tech Group company general managers to ensure our successful achievement of the key and critical global initiatives contained within Tech's global business plan."
