New sizes coming for BFGoodrich Mud-Terrain T/AKM2

Michelin North America Inc.'s BFGoodrich Mud-Terrain T/AKM2 tires are now available in size 285/75R16, and additional sizes will be coming later this month and next.

The off-road tire will now be available in 37 sizes ranging from LT215/75R15 to 42x14.50R20.

“The Mud-Terrain T/AKM2 tire has proven that it can handle the turns and terrain on and off the trails,” says Joe Mazur, light truck category manager for BFGoodrich Tires. “With the release of additional sizes the Mud-Terrain T/AKM2 tire will provide more off-road enthusiasts the opportunity to experience a tire that is truly built to handle the trails.”

The Mud-Terrain T/AKM2 was inspired by BFGoodrich's rock-crawling Krawler T/AKX tire and incorporates Krawler TEK technology in its TriGard sidewall.

Krawler TEK technology consists of three components that improve the sidewall strength as compared to the BFGoodrich Mud-Terrain T/AKM tire. These three components consist of: aggressive sidewall lugs, cut- and chip-resistant sidewall compounds and sidewall cords that are up to 33% stronger than the previous Mud-Terrain T/AKM tire.

These advancements allow for more bite and sidewall protection along with increased strength and resistance to bruising caused by rocks and rough trails, the company says.

The Mud-Terrain T/AKM2 tire has raised white lettering on the sidewall and offers even wear characteristics and grip due to its Krawler-inspired tread design and a Linear Flex Zone across the face of the tread.
