Vogue Tyre rolls out 20-inch, low-profile whitewall

May 23, 2007

Vogue Tyre & Rubber Co. introduced a new 20-inch passenger tire, the Custom Built Radial VIII, earlier today, May 23, at a press conference in Akron, Ohio. It will be available this July in size 245/40R20 99H.

The H-rated tire comes with Vogue's white sidewall/gold stripe sidewall design and targets full-size sedans. "It will fit on a lot of mainstream vehicles," says Vogue President Greg Hathcock.

The Custom Built Radial VIII comes with a mileage expectancy of 40,000 miles.

"This is the most exciting product we've had in years. New products are very important to our growth. This is the culmination of a lot of work by a lot of people."

The tire will be manufactured for Vogue by Goodyear Tire & Rubber Co. at Goodyear's Fayetteville, N.C., plant.

Its creation was spurred by customer demand, says Hathcock. "We've received phone calls, e-mails... our locations would get questions. We have three SUV tires in 20 inches; some customers mistook them for passenger tires."

The product also is available in 17- and 18-inch sizes, he adds.
