RMA co-hosts ground rubber use conference

May 15, 2007

The Rubber Manufacturers Association recently co-hosted the United States' first conference dedicated to the use of ground rubber in molded, extruded and bound rubber products.

The event was held in conjunction with the South Carolina Department of Health and Environmental Control and the Asphalt Rubber Technical Center of Clemson University.

"Our goal for this conference was to start with the basics of rubber and compounding and the products that are currently made from recycled rubber, and then focus on how to market these products," says RMA Senior Technical Director Michael Blumenthal.

A follow-up conference is being planned for 2008.
