Nokian to post 1Q sales, profit gains

Order Reprints

Nokian Tyres plc says its net sales for the first quarter will total 200 million euros. Its operating profit will be 39 million euros.

"Main reasons for the better-than-expected results are strong sales growth continuing in Russia, as well as stronger-than-expected summer tire sales," say Nokian officials.

The Finland-based tiremaker expects growth to continue during the rest of the year, but "not at the same pace" as during the first quarter.
