Bridgestone Firestone North American Tire LLC (BFNT) will sponsor the 2007 Need for Speed Formula Drift Championship Series.
This is BFNT's second year of Formula D sponsorship. "The Bridgestone brand Potenza RE-01R tire performed exceptionally well for us last year," says Phil Pacsi, vice president, consumer tire marketing, for BFNT.
At the end of the season, BFNT will award $15,000 to the highest-rated Bridgestone-sponsored driver in Formula D.
2007 Formula Drift (Formula D) Championship, its fourth consecutive year as a sponsor.
Cooper Tire & Rubber Co. also is offering a contingency program to all qualified Formula D drivers competing on Cooper brand tires. Maxxis International - U.S.A. is offering a contingency program for Formula D, as well.
The 2007 Formula D schedule starts on April 7 and runs through Oct. 13.
