Pirelli achieved revenue, income gains in 2006

March 21, 2007

Pirelli & Cie SpA achieved revenues of 4.8 million euros during 2006 versus 4.5 million euros the previous year. Pirelli's operating income rose more than 8% from 2005 to 401 million euros.

The Italian company's Pirelli Tyre division grew its sales by 8.7% during 2006. The unit's operating income rose 4.1% over 2005 numbers.

"The positive impacts linked to sales growth, product mix and improved efficiency, combined with the exchange rate contribution, more than compensated the increase of costs of production factors and in particular of raw materials," say Pirelli officials.
