Registration is open for TIA's 2008 OTR Tire Conference

March 16, 2007

The Tire Industry Association (TIA) will hold its 2008 Off-the-Road Tire Conference Feb. 21-23, 2008, at the Hapuna Beach Prince Hotel in Kohala Coast, Hawaii.

Registration is currently open for the 2008 conference. A registration form with hotel information is available on TIA’s Web site at www.tireindustry.org, click on "Events."

The association expects this conference to sell out. Registration is accepted on a first-come, first-serve basis.

TIA's 51st OTR Conference, held recently in San Diego, Calif., had record setting attendance with 450 people, including nearly 100 attendees from outside North America.

“We are excited to see the growth in attendance for this conference,” said Paul Hyatt, TIA president. “It shows the value our members and non-members from around the world are gaining from this annual event.”

Many of the OTR presentations were focused on the shortage of OTR tires and how dealers and retreaders can adapt to the many changes in the industry.

TIA said the annual highlight of the OTR Conference is the forecast for original equipment and replacement tires. At this year's event, attendees were informed that the back-order situation for many large OTR sizes is expected to continue for at least the next two to three years.
