Purcell Tire will spend $5 million to expand retreading

March 5, 2007

Purcell Tire & Rubber Co. is expanding its retreading operations for OTR tires 51 inches and larger with a $5 million investment.

Purcell Tire offers segmented mold retread systems designed to produce both 4000R57 and 46/90R57 haulage tires, as well as 52/80x57 through 55/80R57 tires.

"The rapid growth of global mining operations, and resulting shortage of large haulage tires, has greatly affected both the operations and expansion plans of all large mining companies," says Bob Purcell, Purcell Tire's CEO. (Bob and Juanita Purcell were Modern Tire Dealer magazine's Tire Dealer of the Year Award winners in 2004.)

Purcell Tire’s expanded retreading services are initially being offered to companies with mine operations based in North America.
