This week in Atlanta, Ga., Pirelli Tire North America sponsored the first “Italy Day” at the Georgia capitol.
Pirelli has four of its MIRS (Modular Integrated Robotized System) modules in operation in its newest automated production facility in Rome, Ga.
The aims of this Italy Day are concerned with:
* Accelerating the expansion of Italian manufacturing in Georgia, recognizing that Italian companies are creating jobs and are part of the economic support for Georgia;
* Intensifying the cultural and language exchanges between Italy and Georgia to encourage stronger collaborations between business and educational institutions in Italy and Georgia;
* Focusing on study and scientific research directed towards new technology, for example telecommunications and medical research, and satisfying the increasing requests of Georgia’s universities to include foreign exchange programs.
