Bosch wants to purchase Beissbarth units

Feb. 16, 2007

The Bosch Group has announced its intention to acquire touchless tire alignment system manufacturer Beissbarth GmbH and also an Italian company, both of which both belong to the Beissbarth Automotive Group.

The Italian firm, Sicam s.r.l. Coreggio, makes and markets tire service equipment as well.

Combined, the companies generate annual sales of nearly 90 million euros. They would be integrated into Bosch's Automotive Aftermarket division.

The acquisition will expand Bosch's product line-up to include tire service equipment, say Bosch officials. "Moreover, the acquisition will serve to strengthen (Bosch's) workshop equipment business at OEMs' authorized repair centers."

Purchase price has not been disclosed.
